Shelby Pool

Shelby at Pool

11-year-old Shelby Gregg’s unknown progressive neuro-muscular condition has confined her to a wheelchair; she is unable to walk by herself. For Shelby, having her own swimming pool would free her from the confinements of her wheelchair! She is able to swim unassisted, and swimming is the only time Shelby can exercise and direct her own movements. Danielle, Shelby’s mom, explains, “This wish meant the world to Shelby.  She has wanted a pool since she was unable to continue with her aqua therapy at Vanderbilt. We have been waiting for 2 years to get her back in the pool for therapy and now she has been doing her aqua therapy at home with the support of family and friends!” Shelby’s wish was granted at her very own “Shelby Make a Wish” Pool Party, where she was able to invite all of her friends over to share in the joy of this wish.
