Local Cardinals fan enjoys the sights and sounds of St. Louis

Andrew wish

Andrew loves baseball and loves watching the St. Louis Cardinals. Earlier this year, the 9-year-old Clarksville resident took time out from watching video games and working on his baseball card collection to visit the city of St. Louis and watch his beloved Cardinals "play ball." "He had a blast!" says Andrew's mom, Billie. Andrew previously received radiation treatment for a brain tumor and is currently undergoing chemotherapy at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. In addition to realizing his wish to see the Cardinals play, Andrew got to visit the Gateway Arch and City Museum. "It was also his first airplane ride, and he still brags to others about his wings the stewardess gave him," says Billie. Though Andrew frequently does not feel well, Bills says he doesn't show it. "He has been such an inspiration to all who know him. He is strong willed and has not let this illness win."
