Meet Courtney

In October 2017, we're celebrating Volunteer Courtney Livingstone.

Volunteer Courtney Livingstone
Where do you work?
I'm an accounting specialist at PatientFocus.
How long have you been affiliated with Make-A-Wish?
I've been volunteering with Make-A-Wish for just over three years. I've granted wishes and helped with various events like Walk for Wishes, Barrel of Wishes, and the Macy's Believe campaign.
What is your favorite wish story?
My favorite wish was actually one of the first wishes I helped work on. It was for a three-year-old boy named Jacob, who wished to have his own carnival! We had rides, games, balloon animals, horse rides. You name it, and it was there! Not only was it amazing to see how happy and excited Jacob was, it was incredible to see all the support and love from the community and vendors that helped make his wish come true.
In what way have you seen the impact a wish can have on a child?
The whole process, from planning to the actual wish, adds so much joy for both the wish child and their family. Even when they might not be feeling great or are in the hospital, when you talk to them about their wish you can just see them light up with excitement. I've even had wish kids who were so inspired after their wishes that they asked how they can give back and volunteer themselves.
If you could have one wish, what would it be?
If I could have a wish, it would definitely be to go the Oscars!
