For more than a decade, the Nashville Predators hockey team and the Nashville Predators Foundation have been generous supporters of Make-A-Wish Middle Tennessee. Through in-kind support, event sponsorships, Foundation grants, volunteer hours and general donations, the organization has given more than $180,000 to help grant life-changing wishes for Middle Tennessee children with critical illnesses.
In 2015, James Neal hosted the inaugural James Neal Hockey Clinic presented by Delta Dental of Tennessee. After Neal's departure from the team at the end of the 2016-2017 season, alternate captain Mattias Ekholm took the helm and hosted the 2017 Mattias Ekholm Hockey Clinic presented by Delta Dental of Tennessee. The annual youth hockey clinic has raised more than $30,000 for Make-A-Wish Middle Tennessee.
In addition to foundation grants, the Nashville Predators Foundation has also played an integral role in granting wishes in Middle Tennessee. In 2016, volunteers from the Foundation helped Gytis shop for toys at Toys "R" Us. Gytis' wish was to give toys to the Lithuanian orphanage from which he was adopted. In 2017, we teamed up with the Nashville Predators Foundation and Special Spaces to give D'Arion a room makeover.
Make-A-Wish Middle Tennessee and all of Nashville are fortunate to have community partners like the Nashville Predators.
