Zaxby’s Raises More Than $59,000 to Benefit Make-A-Wish® and Help Grant Children’s Wishes
Nashville, TN - On April 30, 2012, Zaxby’s hosted its national convention for licensees and vendors at Gaylord Opryland Hotel. Through a silent and live auction Zaxby’s raised a total of $59,460 to benefit Make-A-Wish Middle Tennessee. To date, this is the largest direct auction donation Make-A-Wish Middle Tennessee has received in its history.
The Grand Ole’ Opry theme at the event was apparent- attendees wore jeans, boots and cowboy hats, and the auction items were displayed on barrels. Some of the auction items included iPads, televisions, jewelry, sports equipment, high-end accessories, gift baskets and more. Thanks to the hard work and effort of the Zaxby’s team and the generous donations by their vendors Zaxby’s will help grant eight wishes to children battling life-threatening medical conditions throughout Middle Tennessee.
“We are proud to be a system-wide supporter of Make-A-Wish,” said Zach McLeroy, CEO and co-founder of Zaxby’s. “We are pleased that the money raised from our convention will grant the wishes of eight courageous children.” Zaxby’s became a sponsor of Make-A-Wish in 2011 and has donated a total of $250,000 to help grant 30 wishes to children across the country.
