The event began around 8:30 a.m. with sponsor and vendor booths lining the parking lot, along with a family fun zone. WKRN news anchor, John Dwyer kicked off the festivities by introducing the crowd to kids from Middle Tennessee that have previously received a wish including Connor Newsom, Bethany O’Brien, Ricky Rome and Tyler Neilsen. Tennessee Titan Chance Warmack then joined Dwyer on stage for a live wish reveal for a local Murfreesboro child. Four year-old Aries is currently being treated for a brain tumor. His wish to go to Disney World with his family was celebrated by the crowd before the walk began. Thanks to the walk, eight other children in the Middle Tennessee area like Aries will also be able to experience their special wish.
The walk began at 9:00 a.m. as bands GirlBilly, Ashley Martin and Tim Montana & the Schrednecks played throughout the morning to entertain the crowd as they walked and then mingled among the vendor booths afterwards.
We would like to thank our premiere event sponsors, Murfreesboro Medical Clinic, LMG Touring, and Pita Pit, as well as our presenting sponsors, Bob Parks Realty, Gibson, Steel Technologies, Stewart Title, Turner Machine Company and UMH Properties for helping us put on such a wonderful inaugural event!
