Jalan's "My Wish" Watch Party

Mt. Juliet High School Watch Party for Jalan's "My Wish" segment

Sixteen-year-old Jalan, a senior at Mt. Juliet High School, was one of the Make-A-Wish kids featured on ESPN's annual "My Wish" series.

  • Amanda Robinson addresses the Mt. Juliet football team

  • Mt. Juliet High School football team and cheerleaders

  • Jalan's teammates watch his segment on ESPN

  • Mt. Juliet football coaches and Quarterback Club members

  • Shelley Freeman speaks to football players

  • Jalan's teammates

  • Jalan's teammate watch his segment

Two years ago, Jalan's promising football career was cut short when he was diagnosed with a chronic pulmonary embolism. Through his trademark perseverance and positivity, he was able to use his experience and natural talent to transition from player to student coach for the Mt. Juliet High School Golden Bears.

Jalan wished to produce and be the subject of an inspirational ESPN feature. He wanted a platform to encourage others the same way he encourages his teammates and his community every day. Check out Jalan's My Wish segment.

Jalan's teammates, coaches and friends got together to watch Jalan's pre-recorded "My Wish" segment and his live appearance on SportsCenter.
