The Civic-Minded Young Professionals
Julia Bonner and Drew Smyth, two of our super talented Young Leaders Board (YLB) members, were named two of Nashville’s Top 30 Under 30, sponsored by the Middle Tennessee chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Nashville's Top 30 Under 30 recognizes the city’s most active young professionals under the age of 30 all while benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and its work to control and cure cystic fibrosis. (Sidenote: Did you know children with cystic fibrosis are eligible for a wish?)
Julia is the founder and president at Pierce Public Relations. She serves the YLB's PR chair.
Drew works as a financial analyst for VGM Health. He is the events chair for our YLB.
The Philanthropic Rock Star
Jonathan Cain of the band Journey is a member of our board. The band was recently among the nominees for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! Jonathan's support is essential to granting wishes, but it goes beyond his role as a board member. He has played an integral role in our annual Stars for Wishes gala. We are proud of him and the band for creating incredible music, and we are thankful to have him as a part of our story!
The Award Winning CFO
Our very own director of finance & operations, Dianna Murphy, was honored with the SunTrust Bank CFO of the Year Award at the Center for Nonprofit Management's Salute to Excellence Awards. We all know Dianna is top-notch, but it's nice when others recognize it too. We are so proud of her for winning this award, but we are even more thankful for her hard work and dedication to granting wishes. Without her, we wouldn’t be serving near as many families!
This is just a glimpse into the amazing work that our people do in the Middle Tennessee area! Our Make-A-Wish family spreads hope, strength and joy every where they go. We certainly are blessed with the best!
